Live cohort · 6 weeks · Next intake: [Sept — placeholder]

The yMBA.

For founders and marketing teams who need YouTube to actually pay off — not just exist. Six weeks, live, applied to your channel every week, with the team that runs YouTube for brands all day.

No, it's not an actual MBA. That's the joke. It's also more useful.

Ed Calum

Taught by the team that grew the CareerFoundry blog past a million monthly organic visits and led YouTube growth at AJ&Smart and CareerFoundry. We do this for clients every day — this is the same playbook.

The Live Cohort

Six weeks on your channel

The flagship. Live sessions, weekly projects, a pod of peers, and recorded feedback on your actual work — from the people who do this commercially.

Workshops & Community

Free live sessions, all year

Between cohorts we run open workshops — live teardowns, AMAs, one topic at a time. Recordings join the library; the conversation lives in our Slack.

Live-first. Project-driven. Feedback you keep.

01

One live session a week

90 minutes, taught live, with your questions answered in the room. Every session is recorded and in your portal the next morning — chaptered, transcribed, rewatchable.

02

A project on your channel

No hypothetical case studies. Each week you apply the session to your own channel — your positioning, your titles, your scripts — and submit it.

03

Feedback from us — and your pod

We review your submission on camera and in writing. Your pod of four reviews it too — and you review theirs, which is where half the learning happens. All of it lands on your own feedback page.

04

A community that outlasts it

The cohort and its pods run in our Slack, alongside the operators and founders already in there. You keep your seat after the six weeks end.

Your work, your feedback, your pages.

Six weeks. One system.

The same sequence we run when an agency client hands us a channel. Each week: one live session, one project on your channel, feedback from us — and a peer-review pass in your pod.

Week 1 Positioning & channel strategy Live · 90 min + project
Why most business channels fail before the first upload. Who the channel is for, what it's competing with, and the one question your content answers.
  • Project: your channel positioning one-pager — the document every later week builds on.
Week 2 Packaging: titles & thumbnails Live · 90 min + project
The video is decided before it's watched. Title formats that work, thumbnail concepts that stop the scroll, and how to test packaging before you shoot.
  • Project: re-package three of your existing videos; pitch one new one.
Week 3 Scripting for retention Live · 90 min + project
Setup–Tension–Payoff: the structure behind every video that holds attention. Intros that validate the click, and why most scripts die in the first 30 seconds.
  • Project: script your next video's intro + outline; we tear it down on camera.
Week 4 The ecosystem: descriptions, chapters & distribution Live · 90 min + project
The 5,000 characters almost everyone wastes. Descriptions that convert, chapters that rank, and how one video feeds LinkedIn, your blog and your email list.
  • Project: full upload pack for one video — description, chapters, distribution plan.
Week 5 Analytics & iteration Live · 90 min + project
Which numbers matter, which are vanity, and how to read a retention graph like an editor. Building the weekly loop that compounds.
  • Project: audit your own last five videos; pick the one change with the biggest expected payoff.
Week 6 The system: pipeline, briefs & showcase Live · 90 min + showcase
Turning all of it into an operation: briefs, a content pipeline, working with editors — the machinery that means the channel still runs when you're busy.
  • Final project: your channel operating plan, presented to the cohort.

Is this an actual MBA?

No. It's six weeks, it's about YouTube, and nobody will call you "Doctor". It will, however, teach you more about growing a business on the world's second-largest search engine than any module we took.

How much time does it take?

Budget three to four hours a week: the live session, your project, and reviewing two pod-mates' submissions. The peer reviews aren't homework garnish — giving feedback is where half the learning happens.

What if I can't make a live session?

Recordings land in your portal the next morning, chaptered and transcribed. But the live room — questions, teardowns, other people's feedback — is most of the value. Come live if you can.

Do I need an existing channel?

It helps, because every project runs on your real channel. Starting from zero is workable — Week 1 and 2 are exactly where you'd want to be starting from anyway.

Who is this not for?

Anyone after "viral growth hacks", faceless-channel schemes, or passive income mythology. This is the boring, compounding, works-for-actual-businesses version.
